St. Charles is a wonderful place to visit.
St. Charles is a wonderful place to visit. We saw a concert at the Arcada Theater which is a cool old venue downtown. We ate at Riverside Pizza. The pizza was OK but the cocktails were great. The Colonial across the street had good food and better ice cream. I'd stay away from the Tuscan Club, tho. And the Tasty Biscuit was super delicious in a cool place with great service. Unfortunately, we were there on a stormy weekend so we didn't do a lot of sightseeing. We did drive around a bit and take in some of the sights. The river is cool and so are the old homes. But I also didn't mind spending time watching football either. Highly recommended.

I was disappointed in this particular hotel.
I was disappointed in this particular hotel. Bed was uncomfortable, pillows were flat. Continental breakfast was poor - lack of choices, no hot dishes, had to ask for limited food choices that were there. Taxi was easy to obtain from O'Hare airport. Mixed reviews on friendliness of employees - 1 good, 1 not so nice. Walked over to small diner - had great Italian Beefs for a good price!

Was in the area to visit family but had a few hours to kill and Potowamie park was fantastic. Could have spent a whole day there. So much to do with family. Also, St. Charles has a cute downtown area that's very walkable.

Cute little town along the river.
Cute little town along the river. Downtown area has a lot of shops and antique stores and boutiques. Food was good anywhere we went! I recommend the ghoulish mortals store around Halloween. Flagship on the Fox is great for families.

Saint Charles is a wonderful place to visit.
The exception was Pheasant Run.

I live in a small town. St.
I live in a small town. St. Charles as a community seems to have adopted a big-town mentality. The people are not overly friendly. I would travel there for business, as I did my last 2 trips, but not as a place to vacation.
This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Everything from self check in to the ability to choose your own room to the responsive staff to the spectacular, comfy bed. I have extreme claustrophobia and the room was comfortable. I got the king size suite and the size and roominess exceeded my expectations. The room truly matched the pictures on the website. There was plenty of parking and it was next to shopping and restaurants. We loved it here! I already booked a room for when I return to the area in April and in June.
It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Eggs, bacon, and waffles were the main hot foods. Wi-Fi was good. The pool was closed at the time of our stay. The parking lot was very well maintained and bright. Having the restaurant right next to hotel was a bonus. Would stay again if we travel there.
The staff were super friendly and very helpful. We especially loved Leo who was very helpful and took us to a couple of places in the hotel van.
Everything was within walking distance and having a laundry on the premises was super helpful as well.
Location worked out well... Still don't know where the garden is!
Nice clean hotel, Bed was comfy, pillows too soft, but bring your own if you are that fussy!
And Thank You for all the bottled water we could drink, it really improved the coffee!
Alex the front receptionist was fantastic! He made sure we were well taken care of. The main reason my family and I booked this hotel was just to get out of the house and enjoy some indoor pool time, Alex made sure we did that exactly!
Very disappointed that the hot breakfast that was advertised wasn't there. Just a dumb bag thing. Really a bagel granola bar and juice! We will be going to a different hotel for sure.
